Sorry for the delay

Sorry it has been so long since I have had a post, but the internet access at my house has been down for a few days and I just made it to the library today and now only because I was at Ladies Bible Class.

Overall, things are going well. KK is trying to improve her attitude, but I think she is putting so much effort into just changing her attitude rather than what is actually wrong, that she is wearing herself out. MR has had a few visits with her father and that improves her spirit so much it is amazing. She is also becoming more involved at church. At school, her PE teachers are working her tail off and thus she is loosing weight, which she needs to do. With all these positves, you would think that she would be more settled and happy, but she desperatly misses home and expresses homesickness alot. MB is still not connecting with us, but has made friends at school and is getting involved at church. KR is doing well, but her brother is causing her some problems with his behavior and the lies he passes on from his dad. LF is off her major restrictions. She read a book about Christians and dating, and seems to want to change that aspect of her life. Things were so messed up in her early years though, that it may take a while. MB has brought her grades up and working really hard at the house to do everything we ask. She responds really well to positive attention and just about cries everytime she receives any negative feedback or consequence. SM did not make the all-distric choir, but was very close. No one expected her to make it as freshman though, so it is okay. She is struggling to keep up in school and the stress from all of it is keeping her blood sugar unsteady. MS has expressd some intrest in changing, but it seems to be all on the surface right now. She is very superficial, but I really believe that is because she doesn't know what it means to go deeper than the surface. SS is doing well, but is very homesick. She is struggling with some eating problems right now.

Overall, the home is doing well. This group of people seems to be able to work well together.

Jason and I are excited for two reasons this week. First of all, there is another a set of new full time houseparents who are actually NOT old enough to be our parents/grandparents. Actuall, one of them graduated highschool the same year I did. It is so nice to actually have peers our age working with us. This is a first. The second exciting thing is that we get to go to OKC this weekend. It has been probably 2 years since I saw people in OKC and it has been 3 for Jason. We are both ready to leave right this minute if we could. I am almost in tears sitting here in the library thinking about it.

Well, that is about it. Have a great weekend!

I'm jealous, even though it has only been 4 months since I've been to OKC. I'm so anxious to get back again. It will always be home to me. So glad you are getting to make it up there. Tell the gang hello. And glad to hear all else is going well.
