Since my normal relief houseparents are on maternity leave, the second set of relief houseparents came in this afternoon and evening and gave me some much needed time off. The girls have been absolutlety wonderful this week, but it is still very difficult to do this job without Jason. I am not sure what I would do as a career if I lost him because even though I love houseparenting, I am not sure I would attempt to do this alone, ever, anywhere.
Speaking of Jason, I spoke with Thursday-he got a mule deer! It is smaller than the one we currently have mounted so he is not going to waste the money to mount this one. But I do get deer meat!!! All is well now!
As I said, the girls have been doing great. Please keep us all in your prayers very specifically over the next two or three months. The holiday season is very difficult for these kids and they are not really equipped to handle everything that goes on inside of them. This of course, makes for a very difficult time for us. While we want to be sympathetic, compassionate and loving, if we are that way too much, then we end up with some long term problems. Hopefully we can keep them distracted enough with service projects, outings and parties that it won't be too much of an issue.
