SS had surgery yesterday. It was an outpatient surgery that required me to stay at the facility the entire. Left the house at 10:00 a.m. and returned a little before four. She is recovering well, but really has no pain tolerance what so ever. I feel really bad for her and I wish there was more I could do to take away the pain. But there is nothing I can do besides give her the medication they gave us. And of course, this does not seem to be enough. Hopefully, I won't go nuts before she completely heals.
MR has had some sort of stomach flu since Monday. She went to school and did fine, but we can not make the nausea stop. She is not running a fever, but she can't keep anything down. I guess I am going to have to take her to the doctor today. Which should be interesting to do since the Texas legislator has made a really stupid decision recently (They now want one person in charge of these kids medical care at all times, regardless of what facility they are in. So, they are assigning it to the caseworkers. Which means I could have to have her caseworker come and take her to her appointment rather than just me taking her. Hope the caseworker is not busy, huh?). We shall see what happens.
MB is fighting a small cold as well. I think hers may just be the weather change, but I am not sure.
Last night, SM and LP were in a choir concert. They did great and looked wonderful in their dresses. I was worried about LP's dress because we had to let hem 4-5 inches and this left a huge crease where the previous hem had been. I was able to light the line, but it didn't come all the way out. However, there were plenty of other girls whose dresses looked much worse than her's so overall we were very pleased. MB decided she wanted to go to the concert. She did well for the first two choirs, but the during the third one she struggled to stay awake. I was trying to get a picture of her, but everytime I leaned for to take one, her eyes would pop open and she would be awake. It was quite funny. Anyway, the concert started at 7:30 p.m. and was over at 8:08 p.m. That was one of the quickest concerts I have ever been to.
Well, this week is almost half way over and the chaos doesn't stop here. Tonight is church, tomorrow is the cooking school, Friday is homecoming, Saturday is the fall festival. Sunday should be a normal day, though they are always a little hectic due to the kids having huddles and us having life group. I would say that once Monday gets here, we will have a break, but this weekend is also the kid's fall break so they don't back to school until Wednesday. Could it really be any longer of a week? Of course, now that I have asked that question, something else will come up as a disaster. Oh, well. I guess that is what I get for choosing to parent 9 teenage girls, huh? Here's hoping that your week looks nothing like mine!
