I am once again at a loss as to what to post in some ways. Things have been going pretty well for the Holidays. We have received some news about one or two of the kids. I am not going to put any real detail on the blog until I know for sure what is happening, but please keep SM and MB your prayers. The prayer needs to be that God makes it clear to all involved what is best for these two young women. I can not see clearly enough right now to say that God has revealed it to me, but I think that is because I know what I want for them.
MB9, KR, MR, and LF have all been doing fine.
SS has had some struggles lately, but I am beginning to wonder if it not some of the medication we put her on. I am going to call the doctor next week to see what he has to say about it. If it is not her medication then we could end up having some real issues with her soon.
KK started basketball recently and I think it going to great for her. I think she is probably one the best players on the team. I really hope she does well. I am really excited for her to be playing in this Christian league. The coaches are required to stop half way through practice and have a short devo and the kids earn stars for learning a Bible each week. They even give them a book to help the be prepared for the devo the next week. Also, every player plays the same amount of time and they guard someone that is on their level as well. So the best player on your team is guarded by the best player on the other and vise versa. All in all, I was really impressed with the first practice. However, KK's attitude is still not good. She really struggles with having any positive interactions with males and would just prefer Jason not exsit. (I may have already posted this comment, but things have not changed and I cannot remember if I did or not, so here it is again).
MS has had some chaos in her family recently. It looks like a few more sibiling may end up in CPS custody. If that happens, I think MS will be upset, but I think she can see the positives in it as well. She also responded to the invitation last Sunday asking for prayers for her family and for her to be more like Christ. She followed this up by dating a guy who is known to be a troublemaker at school (the peace officer on campus knows him name and face) and has helped a few of our kids from the home run away. When this fact was pointed out, she kinda just blew it all off as no big deal. I know God can work in her and I see some changes. However, it is very frustrating. I just pray that God will continue to show us His ways in dealing with these kids.
Jason and I are doing okay. We received word that a long time family friend passed away of natural causes in Alaska. And Jason's great-unlce (one of the brother's of the grandmother that passed away recently) also passed away. It was very sad, but helped us to make a connection with a part of Jason's family that lives here, so there can be some positives in it. We are headed to Austin next weekend for Christmas with my family. I am excited to see my friends and family that I have not seen in a long time.
Well, that is about it for now. Please pray that God will open our eyes to the oppurtunities we have before us and reveal to us the areas in which Satan has control so that we can pray for ferevently that he loose it.
