Friends

Growing up, we sang a song by Steven Curtis Chapman called "Friends". I am sure most of you are very familiar with it so I won't take the time to type the entire song here. However, this evening the chorus of that song resonates with in: "And friends are friends forever, if the Lord's the Lord of them. And a friend will not say never, cause the welcome will not end. Though its hard to let you go, in the Father's hands we know, that a lifetimes not to long to live as friends."

Phill and Tarese, a couple that I have known for over ten years now, are here with their youth group. We have not lived in the same region of the country since Jason and I left OKC 6 years ago. And yet, over the past 6 years, our friendship has endured. It has changed, yes. And, no, it is not what I thought it would look like. However, I am more thankful now for their love, support and friendship than I did when college was over and all began to go our seperate ways. Once again, it makes me say "God is good."
