God is good

Just in case you fogot or haven't every really known, God is good (all the time).

Lately, I have been blessed enough to have my eyes opened to the many blessing that God provides everyday. Right now, the thing that sticks out most in my mind is that He led us into the life service that we have both been longing for since we went into houseparenting. It is wondeful to be able to sit down and talk about things like music, dancing, purity, baptism and salvation and have the girls actually be part of the discussion, not just an audience. They ask questions and I know that the answers I give not only come from God, but will be backed up by a wonderful congregation led by elders whose passion is Jesus. I think I have heard that from each of the elders in one way or another. This eldership is one of the most gentle hearted group of men I have ever seen. And even more importantly, they encourage their ministers to be the same way. I wish each of you could sit in a song service with Doyle (our worship minister). Have you ever not been able to participate in singing because you have lost your voice? Sometimes, when that happens, you wonder what the point of being in a song service means, right? I mean, you can't sing, so why bother? I disticanlty remember this feeling as a kid and there have been plenty of times I have felt this way as an adult. But with Doyle, I don't feel that way. I know that I could still be edified and worship with the congregation even if I did not have the ability to sing. And it really doesn't feel like Doyle is leading us-he is as much a part of the worship as we are, if not more so. Our preacher, Brian, was a former youth minister in Houston (I actually had met him in my junior/senior year in highschool) and the passion he displays is deeper than it was then (which I find hard to believe in so many ways!). His is the type of message that stays with you all week, not just Sunday. And our youth ministers, Landon and Kyle, show the same passion for the youth group as the elders do for the church. All in all, we am completely blessed to be a part of such a wonderful congregation.

All that is to say that in my opinion, the girls are getting the best spiritual education that Amarillo has to offer. And it is not up to me and Jason alone to give it to them. And if you have kids, you know how important that really is. The more Jason and I expierence Amarillo, the more we love it here.

I pray that God opens your eyes to His goodness soon. Have a great day, y'all!

I already made a serious comment to this post on your other blog. I can't help to say that the last line just sounds so Hick! And I'm glad to see that you know how to spell y'all!
