Jason went back to the doctor today and his ankle is healing much better than we expected. He is out of the walking boot and in a lace up brace for a while, but he will not be required to get an MRI or have surgery as of right now. Hopefully we can get through his hunting trip without him re-injurying it.
The girls are all doing pretty good. KK has hit slump of negative attitude, but does not have such a hard time getting over it. MR has had lots of contact with her mom and dad recently and that has really improved her overall attitude. MB is still struggling to keep herself disconnected, but I think she is finding it harder and harder to do so. KR seems to be maintaining well, which is not surprising at all. LF has accepted her consequences well, but is having a hard time recovering from her negative choices. MB was a doll at our most recent open house and has been working very hard to bring her grades up at school. SS continues to show good leadership in almost every area in the house, but still gets easily frustrated when it comes to talking about her family. MS if struggling in school, but decided the consquences that we set for failing were bad enough so she is trying hard to bring her grades up. However, she still sees school as a social oppurtunity and nothing more. SM is having a hard time keeping up with her Pre-AP Courses, but is doing okay overall in the home. She is still having a hard time keeping her blood sugar at good levels, but the last appointment with her nurse/doctor was very postive.
I can not say again how wonderful this place is. The donors are amazing, the administration really looks out for the houseparents and the kids are really just good kids overall.
Hope everyone is having a great week!
