Back to the day to day

Well, since the holidays are over, things have seemed to calm down quite a bit. KK is still reallly struggling with the fact that she has to be here and is really fighting any sort of discipline, boundaries and expectations we are setting. It breaks my heart for her. She is a beautiful, smart, athletic young lady who has the potential to do anything she wants to do. It seems right now, all she really wants to do, is be angry, bitter, and hateful. This of course takes away from so many other positive qualities. It is amazing how Satan has a such a hold on such a young girl. I pray that she does not have to leave our facility to what it is she needs, but I fear that might be the case. SM found herself in the very middle of some highschool drama and chaos this week. With the downhill slide she had taken with her grades and attitude here at the house, we had a meeting with her and discussed the natural and logical consequences of her behavior. The school has taken some action to calm the situation down as well and overall, while I think the school over reacated, I think this time of restriction at home and school will be a good thing for her. MR has seemed very withdrawn lately. When our former MB left recently, I know that really hurt her because they were really good friends. She is also roommates with KK and I am sure this has something to do with it. She also really misses her family. My littlest, MB, has started cheerleading for a Christian group here in town. Her first game it today. Since she is so small, she is adorable in her outfit. She is not a bad cheerleader as of right now. She has some problems remembering the words, but does a good job remebering the movements, though they are not as tight as they should be. But considering Thursday was the first time she had been to practice, she is really catching on pretty quick. It does help that LF, whom she adores, is helping her a lot. Speaking of LF, as I mentioned before, she is on the track team at school, however, we have run into what could be a major health complication and I am not sure if the MD is going to let her stay in. LF will be absolutely heartbroken if she cannot stay in. Nothing really to report on the other girls or me and Jason.

I just cannot tell you how blessed this place is! Recently two our administrators stopped by to see how things were going. Jason and I could not think of any real complaints that we had. Sure, we get caught up in the day to things and issues with the girls and frustrations that don't really effect the house, but they really do an amazing job of providing a wonderful home for the kids and houseparents to live in. I know that God has completely blessed this work and will continue to do so. Please, if you are in the Amarillo area, call me so you can get a tour and see what amazing work God is doing here.
