Bad medical day

So, four of my kids are at camp in New Mexico for two weeks, which leaves four home. My two youngest and 2 of my highschool kids. SM who is one of the high school kids and is my diabetic started off my day giving me scare. She did not do what she was supposed to do for two mornings in a row, so she was asked to wash the van since she was not meeting house expectations. Well, she was mad because she earned a consequence and she did not eat a full breakfast like she should have because she was rushed. After washing the outside of the van, she moved inside to wash the windows. At this point, she decided to lay down on one of the seats and fall asleep. I did not realize it at the time so, about 35 mintues later, when it was time to pick up LF from dance practice, I attempted to wake SM up. However, she was almost non-responive, could not put her seatbelt on and could not put a coherent sentence together. I had to test her blood sugar for her and she was at 36 (target rate is 90-130) and falling fast. (If it got much lower, we could have been looking at a coma) It took forty five minutes to get her blood sugar up to 85. The mom in me really came out I guess because I could have strangled her for not taking care of herself, but as soon as she was okay, I wanted to do nothing but hug her and hug her and hug her.

Then later, we were at the pool for like five minutes and one of my younger girls, CW, who is eight, had a nose bleed for clear reason. No big deal, right? Well her nose bleed lasted about 45 minutes and at one point of time her tear duct had blood coming out of it. We went to an Urgent Care center (a thought on this issue later) and the doctor said it was no big deal, sent us home with insrtructions to use dimetapp and a saline nasal spray. Well at bedtime, after using the nasal spray, her nose started bleeding again as did her tear duct. We ended up in the ER at 10:30 p.m. We didn't leave there until 1:00 a.m. and then I had to stop at a pharmacy to get her new nasal spray (thank you Lord, for a 24 hour walgreens!). When we got home at 1:35 a.m., she did the nasal spray and her nose started bleeding again. This time for only about 5 minutes. She made it through the rest of the night without incident, thank goodness.

I only ended up with about 5 hours of sleep last night, which is going to make for a long day, but God is faithful and will get me through, probably by using my wonderful husband to give me a nap at some point. I don't think I could take another day like this!
