Track meets, responses and endings

Well, LF had a track meet out of town about two hours away and she really did not want to go by herself, so Jason loaded up the van at 6:10 a.m. with her, MR and KK. LF didn't do that great at the track meet and Jason has conluded he is never going to another one again. In case you have never been to a highschool track meet let me share with you how it goes. You sit around for a while, watch your child compete in her first event, lasting anywhere from 1 minute to 10 minutes depending on the event and the number of contestants. You then sit around for a few hours at which point they announce that the event you were waiting on has been rescheduled for a spot two hours later because there were not enough people to need a qualifying race. You then sit around for another hour or so at which point, you decide to go to McDonalds to get a soda and go to the bathroom. Upon returning from your trip to the store, you again watch your child participate in an event 1-10 minutes long again. This goes on all day long until your child is either disqualified or the final race is run and you can return home. Yeah, not Jason's idea of how to spend a Saturday to say the least. But he did it for LF and she was extremely happy about that. However, this weekend, she will ride with the track team for her out of town meet and we will not be there.

KK particpated in her last basketball game on Friday night. She did well, but is glad it is over.
MB particpated in her last cheerleading game on Saturday. She is very sad cheerleading is over. Her school behavior has not improved much, but her grades have. We attended an awards banquet on Monday night (Misty cheered with all the other cheerleaders to open the program) and we saw a Juggler for Jesus. He was very entertaining. He had a good message for kids and people who do not know Christ.

MR is getting in so much better shape than when she first got here. She felt like she pulled a muscle in her leg last week, but yesterday she won a race agains one of the girsl on that made the track team. She was really pumped.

KR is getting really good grades this six weeks. She made A/B Honor Roll last six weeks, I think she will do it again this six weeks.

MS is still struggling to make good choices. We are taking this week off of driving hours because we are all a little tired and stressed out. MS does seem to be making good grades in school this round. I am really proud of her for that. I think I am also going to go enroll her at Weight Watchers because we need to get her weight under control and she won't listen to me when I talk to her about making better eating choices (of course, if I was being told to make good eating by someone who was overweight and made poor eating choices, I wouldn't listen either).

SS was not happy with me when I told her she needed to be passing all her classes for me to sign her up for anymore driving hours. Oh, well. No pass, no play. She and I sat down and did her taxes last night. She liked her actual tax return, but I made up a fake one so that she could practice and she ended up having to pay on that one. She was not very happy.

SM responded to the invitation at church this week. She admitted that she has purposefully allowed herself to stop following Christ and wants to change that. I can say that I have seen her making efforts to do so. Please pray that she will stay faithful in this committment.

Jason has spent numerous hours on the computer and phone trying to plan our cottage vacation. We are trying hard to go to Estes Park, Colorado. We have everything planned except for housing. If anyone who knows me personally or is a member of the Church of Christ knows where we can stay for fairly cheap in that area, please let me know.

All right. I think that is all for now. Have a good one!
